Friday’s episode [October 30th] of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ gave us a peek at the type of person our “big bad” for our final season is. Sybil, a siren and captor of Damon and Enzo, starts off the episode by luring a man to his death via singing. After she devours her meal, we learn she is unable to get inside Enzo’s head. Enzo is trying so hard to keep Sybil from finding out about Bonnie, therefore he is forced to give her a name to stop her prying. Unfortunately that name is Sarah Nelson.
Sarah Nelson aka Sarah Salvatore is the last remaining blood relative to Damon and Stefan. She is the child from their Uncle Zack and his girlfriend, who Damon murdered. Enzo realizes the danger he has put Sarah in and tries to alert the trio (Stefan, Caroline and Bonnie) by killing two other Sarah Nelson’s in North Carolina. The trio catches on and quickly races to go save Sarah before Damon and Sybil are able to get to her.
As if Bonnie hasn’t suffered enough, she becomes the third wheel to Steroline. You could see the pain cross her face when Caroline and Stefan touched hands. Bonnie is lost and hurt without Enzo. She feels so alone that she wants to die.
Caroline, Stefan and Bonnie reach Sarah and run into Enzo who was trying to help her escape. Not wanting to go anywhere with Stefan, Sarah argues and says the only way she is leaving is with Enzo. Unfortunately she doesn’t get that chance as Bonnie decides to take matters into her own hands; she vervains Enzo and kidnaps him unaware of the danger that presents. As this is going on Damon arrives, stabs Caroline, takes her daylight ring and smashes her cell phone. Damon then finds Sarah and attempts to kill her as Stefan tries talking him down. He listens and lets Sarah go only to reveal that Sybil was waiting behind the door the whole time. Sybil stabs her and compels Stefan to stay still. He can only watch Sarah die a slow and painful death. The last living Salvatore is dead. Their bloodline is gone and Stefan has been the reason behind or been involved with every Salvatore death.
Sybil is a crafty one. She overheard Stefan remind Damon about Elena and she is then able to see their first moment together. Damon stops fighting her and she is able to see their whole relationship. This is how she is going to win his complete obedience. Sybil inserts herself into all those memories erasing any trace of Elena.
We then jump back to Enzo’s kidnapping. Enzo pleads with Bonnie to let him go. He doesn’t want to put her in danger. He goes on to explain to Bonnie that if he gets too far away from Sybil she pulls him back by causing him psychical pain. Bonnie is forced to let him go and she heads back to Stefan and Caroline. Moments later Bonnie finds Caroline and gives her, her daylight ring back. The two get into an argument and Bonnie unloads all her emotions unto her. Caroline then realizes how much she had been neglecting her friend and vows to be there for her no matter what.
Speaking of vows… After Stefan creates a room in the Salvatore mansion for the twins, he proposes to Caroline. Caroline of course says yes! She is his family now. #Steroline4ever
Paradise may be in sight for this couple, not so much for Enzo and Bonnie. After Enzo returned to Sybil, Damon injures him enough to allow her to see into Enzo’s memories/subconscious. Sybil sees Enzo and Bonnie kiss. Bonnie is now in more danger than ever before. Hopefully the information Alaric and Georgie uncovered at the armory can help her.
After Georgie got over her jealousy of “the hot nanny” aka Seline, she and Ric discover a cuneiform symbol. Georgie, terrified of what she just saw, takes off after seeing the symbol. Come to find out Georgie has seen the symbol before and has a tattoo of it. Georgie tells Ric she saw the symbol when she was dead; she was texting while driving drunk and got into an accident that killed her friend. She woke up somewhere else and could only see the symbol while feeling extreme and never ending pain and loneliness. Georgie becomes a firsthand source on the cuneiform symbol and goes on to uncover a missing artifact from 1790 in the vault with the same symbol on it. This is the same vault Sybil came out of. Does it belong to her? Can it defeat her?
