Kanye West Gets On Desiigner’s "Tiimmy Turner" Remix

A month after it originally surfaced, we finally get to hear the official remix of Desiigner‘s latest hit “Tiimmy Turner,” which features the lyrical stylings of his G.O.O.D. Music boss, Kanye West.

The path to the full creation of this track has certainly been interesting, to say the least: we first heard Desiigner rapping the hook for his XXL Freshmen freestyle before seeing the Brooklyn upstart in the studio cooking up the track with the legendary Mike Dean. Since then, the track has managed to enter the Top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100 list, effectively solidifying Desiigner as more than a one-hit wonder post-“Panda.” Enter the remix, with sees Mr. West adding to the dark, brooding feel of the track with lyrics like:

Everybody just got made alert (Tiimmy)
You might get killed on your way to work
Everyone seen it in broad day
Nobody feelin’ that paperwork

The only thing negative about this new version of ‘Tiimmy Turner’ is that it now lacks any actual verses from Desiigner himself; a very odd change given the fact that he had two very good ones on the original song. Instead of letting Yeezy and his artist share the mic lyrically, they simply relegated Desiigner to the chorus section (which many non-listeners of his music only credit him for, anyway). Hopefully, there’s an engineer/DJ out there who agrees and can give the rising star his due diligence.
