After dropping a slew of videos to end 2019, Slimm Body has returned with a new video for his single, “Wrong Things Right Reasons (W.T.R.R)”. The video serves as a testament of how committed Slimm is in releasing new content for his fans.

After a near fatal gunshot wound and a battling a pending homicide/self defense case over the last few years, Slimm is finally back in position to release music. Launching his Wholesale Entertainment imprint, Slimm Body is definitely someone in the industry that music fans can appreciate. With talents ranging from dropping a hot sixteen to singing love ballads, Slimm represents his hometown of Cashville, Tennessee in a new way.

On a constant grind to level up, Body’s mixtapes and subsequent projects reflect a goal oriented life pertaining to all aspects in “The Life Of A Hustler”, while emitting a chill authentic vibes in the process.

With more music on the way this year, Slimm Body has more up his sleeve to keep the Nashville rap industry interesting.

Slimm Body is fresh off of the morbid Mother’s Day tale “Nothing’s Promised,” the visual of which outlined the grapple a mother had with providing for her children and end-of-the-line tragedy. It was a warped way for Slimm to assess the issue of single parenting, since the video pleads for us to sympathize with the dealing mother. The end of the visual sees the mother character being rewarded, hinting at the message Slimm was getting at all along. On Twitter, he remarked he “felt it only right to recognize the Women with no help…”

The Wholesale Entertainment CEO has a versatile knack for storytelling and emotion, having dropped “Stack It” in the past- suffused with red-bloodedness- and now showcasing a mother’s day tragedy. For My People 3 will undoubtedly see more features from the Wholesale collective and more biting grit from the Tennessee Native. “Nothing’s Promised” acts as the first single, setting the ominous tone for the rest of the project. There’s greetings from Slimm Body, CEO of Wholesale Entertainment, on Mother’s Day weekend with the melancholic “Nothing’s Promised,” another somber account of hood living and hood issues. It’s a twisted tribute to mothers everywhere; “doing whatever it takes” to take care of her children, the mother figure featured in the video grasps criminal activities, while juxtaposing shots of her maternal actions are tossed in the video. A murky look at the realities many families face when tasked with single parenthood.

“Nobody promised you nothing when you came up out your mom/except you’ll probably go to hell” are the first words uttered in the track, darkening the mood for the otherwise brightly filmed visual that’s outfitted with shots of nature and parental bonding. “Being dead by 21” is the lingua franca of minorities living in lower income neighborhoods, and the video taps into this by suggesting that even though this mother is doing all she can to provide for her children, there’s a web of crime that’s easily overlooked and tripped over awaiting her children in the future.

Dee Goodz, fresh off the release of his album Floetic Justice 3 and a relatively recent feature on Complex Hustle,  supports Slimm throughout the track, adding aggression and red-bloodedness to the mellow track. You can stream the video above, and keep up with Slimm via his Twitter and Instagram.

Wholesale Entertainment CEO Slimm Body comes through with a track capable of summarizing the rapper’s success and foundation in a succinct way- lots of boastful, red-blooded, and fierce lyrics laid over a smooth, vintage soul vocal. The words “Stack It” repeatedly washes over the background before the bass comes in as gently as the vocals did- what follows are visuals of the Tennessee area, sports cars, and Slimm talking of his successes and ambitions.

Lines like “My phone full of cells/like a CCA prison” and “I got my street on lock/I got my car on park/and the top on drop” help the listener envision the lifestyle Slimm currently lives and still wishes to thrive in. In addition, he continually represents Tennessee hip-hop, as well as his label Wholesale Entertainment, in the most progressive, vicious light possible.

2DopeBoyz recently gave an accurate write up of his video for “Reach,” an inspiration ballad about success and what Slimm envisions the future holding for him, his people, and the world around him. It’s important to note the presence, and lack thereof, other people; “Reach” shows him hanging about with all his squad, while “Stack It” clearly has an individualistic edge it- one which suggests that Slimm’s out to make it for both himself and for those around him.
