‘In Gauged’ Is Bringing His Melodic and

Lyrical Style to the Masses

(CHICAGO, IL) October 17, 2018 – Rising rapper Doobie Dalil from Chicago’s South Side just released his debut album In Gauged.  This body of work has a smooth narrative covering the highs and lows of street life with crisp production, and Doobie’s trademark precise-but-melodic flow. Doobie Dalil has already been making a name for himself with dense lyricism and strong performances opening for the likes of Lil’ Durk and the one-and-only Drake, but with this first full-length project he’s staking his claim for the title of Chicago’s finest.

In Gauged starts off strong with “Bust Down,” a wavy cut produced by Kajun that showcases the articulate flow many have compared to another Chicago native, speed-rap legend Twista. The album continues with a light-hearted vibe on “Thats For Fun” (also produced by Kajun) until things get serious on the Velli-produced track “Mary Jay.” Doobie Dalil shares his vulnerability on “Mary Jay” as he reflects on those he’s lost to the streets: I can’t see ‘em comin down my eyes / So I gotta make this song cry / Make this song cry / Cuz I’m not gon cry / I’m not that type / I’m not gon shed no tears / All your ops gon die / These shots gon fly / I’m not gon shed no tears.

As the project progresses, producer J. Fields delivers on the gritty “Meego” featuring LA’s King Lil G and Eastwood, and “My Blood,” an up-tempo anthem Dalil wrote for the day-ones who’ve been around so long they may as well be blood.  To top it off, Doobie Dalil delivers a sexy, seductive track “All In That” featuring John Blu that takes the ladies for an intimate ride to which this track is skillfully produced by west coast multi-platinum producer Fingazz.  With In Gauged’s 16 solid songs highlighting Doobie Dalil’s creativity and flawless execution, there’s no doubt Chi-town is being elevated with this release. Chief Keef releases his anticipated new album, “Mansion Musick” today on Apple Music and Spotify.

The album is one of Keef’s most personal to date with songs such as the album opener “Belieber” where you can hear him reflecting on his life experiences and journey in the music industry and “TV On. (Big Boss)” an upbeat track dedicated to Keef’s cousin rapper Fredo Santana who recently passed away. Playboi Carti graces the project on “Uh Uh” with his signature melodic voice as one out of the two features on the album with the other feature on track 5 from fellow Glory Boyz Entertainment member Tadoe. “Letter” closes out the album with Keef rapping over a euphonious K.E. On The Track piano beat about how he’s come a long way from the days where naysayers constantly doubted him.

Keef is determined to showcase his growth and creativity through additional projects which will be released this year and unique collaborations. His most recent collaboration is the Glo Gang x King Ice jewelry collection which was also released today online and was showcased at his exciting, jam packed Mansion Musick listening party this week in Los Angeles which had celebrity guests including Disney star Skai Jackson, NBAYoungBoy, Shameless actor Ethan Cutkosky and more.

Make no mistake, G Herbo definitely started something with his freestyle over Three 6 Mafia‘s classic “Who Run It” instrumental, to the point where A$AP Rocky and even one of the song’s creators — Juicy J — had to join in. Now, not only did Lil Uzi Vert (who has a response to Rich The Kid), Chief Keef and Young M.A decide to participate, but so did former Three 6 members and affiliates — including the legendary DJ Paul. If you’re a hip hop head pre-iTunes, then there’s a huge chance you’re keyed in on Ransom.

A Jersey City, NJ representer, Ransom became popular during the mixtape era of hip hop in the early to mid 2000s. 50 Cent, Fabolous, Joe Budden and others are also on that list.

He checked in with Scoop B Radio Overtime and chatted with me about today’s digital hip hop generation vs. the mixtape era, the generation before. Apparently, this generation couldn’t hold a candle to the last genertation: “It’s too easy now you know, ” Ransom told me on Scoop B Radio. “Now it’s all Joe Shmoe little 16 year old he set up a little mbox in his house you know he throwing’ stuff out from his dirty ass room. “

Ransom however admires certain things about artists like Chief Keef.

“Looking at Chief Keef, you put that shit out I don’t know where the hell they was at, some dirty ass apartment and that from his living room right to Broadway. It’s not the same thing, before you had to kind of work at what you said, you know it had to be dope or else people wouldn’t listen. So everything had to be sharp, everything had to be dangerous sounding, you know that’s the era of 50 (Cent) coming up and us. All the stuff sounded like Lloyd Banks, bars and dangerous bars and living on the edge because you wanted people to kind of listen. Now you don’t really need people to listen, Joe Shmoe from some shit kicking town got 10,000 Twitter followers he drop a little something on ITunes and sell a little two, three hundred copies he’s good.”
