As time passes, the G-Shock brand becomes more and more timeless. G-Shock watches are the soundtrack to many memories. As most know, G-Shock has been around for 35 years killing the watch game, year after year, and with that many years in, there is no way a celebration won’t be had. So a massive bash is exactly what G-Shock decided to throw.

Let me paint the picture for you. Let’s take it back to this past Thursday. New York City. A surprisingly warm evening for November. Theatre at Madison Square Garden filled with G-Shock fans and the press from all over the world. Drinks are flowing. Popcorn is popping (it was actually already in boxes, but you get what I mean). The vibes were awesome. Between the extraordinary archive of watches on display in a pop up museum donned with a big lit up G-Shock sign, the numerous respected ambassadors and having the G-Shock engineering legend in the house, attendees had the perfect setting to take 143438 photos/videos to share with their friends.

David Johnson VP of Timepiece, Casio America, Inc. was the MC for the press portion of the event.

Mr. Kikuo Ibe, Founding Father of G-SHOCK and research was loved by the crowd.

On stage were: Matthew Hranek, Full Time traveler, explorer, eater and drinker, Condé Nast Traveler editor, photographer, director and author of “A Man and His Watch,” Adam Craniates, Red Bar Crew Co-Founder, Watch Collector, Freelance Writer, Mr. Kikuo Ibe, Louie Vito, a G-SHOCK Athlete, Professional Snowboarder, Olympian and Ronnie Fieg, Owner of KITH.

Eric Haze, Graphic Artist, G-Shock loyalist and Collaborator was shared his passion for G-Shock watches.

But these festivities were not all G-Shock had in store for its fans as a give back for 35 years of love. Oh no, it was not.

As people were filing in to get to their seats, drink in hand and that already popped popcorn in another, Virgil Abloh hit the stage and started his set. AND basically started the party. Between bumping “Bodak Yellow” and getting everyone to rap along to “Dreams And Nightmares,” Virgil set the scene for what was to come next. Muthaf***ing A$AP Mob!

As we all waited for the crew to bless the stage, their DJ got things started with some classic A$AP tracks. And before we knew it A$AP Nast hit the stage and performed “Nasty’s World.” It didn’t take long before everyone was on their feet, dancing and feeling all the vibes. Soon after, A$AP Twelvyy, A$AP Rocky and the rest of the mob were on the stage performing hits after hits. The energy between A$AP Mob and the audience was electric. People were dancing in aisles, drinks in everyone’s hands and of course, they were all rapping the lyrics at the top of their lungs. These fans were ready for what was going down! SO when A$AP Ferg came out, the energy was at an all time high!

Ferg performed his hit tracks from the beginning of his career to now, including “Shabba,” “New Level,” “Coach Cartier,” “Plain Jane” and more. And it wouldn’t be an A$AP Mob show if they didn’t perform “Yamborghini High” and paid tribute to A$AP Yams. And Yams wasn’t the only one that received a tribute. Ferg made sure to take a moment to shout out Meek Mill and asked everyone to sign the petition to lesson his sentence.

Before closing out the show, Ferg thanked G-Shock for having the A$AP Mob and obviously the fans for all their support. But it was clear that A$AP Mob deserved the thanks for putting on probably one of the best shows the audience would have seen this year.

XXXTentacion – 17

Following some interesting moments (including an apparant faux hanging for a music video), Pompano Beach emcee XXXTentacion blesses the world with his new album 17, an 11-track offering that sees one feature from Trippie Redd. The project follows Members Only, Vol. 3 and the mixtape EP Revenge, which boasts XXX’s breakout single “Look At Me.”

A$AP Mob – Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy

August (or AWGEST) belonged to A$AP Mob, who have already dropped off releases from A$AP Twelvyy and A$AP Ferg. Now, the entire crew delivers the second installment of their Cozy Tapes series, which is led by the single and visual for “RAF” (featuring Frank Ocean, Quavo, Playboi Carti and Lil Uzi Vert). Other non-Mob features include Gucci Mane, Key!, Jaden Smith, ScHoolboy Q, Lil Yachty, Joey BADA$$ (with Pro Era) and more.

Lil Uzi Vert – Luv Is Rage 2

The wait is finally over. Lil Uzi Vert’s Luv Is Rage 2 might’ve been the most-anticipated project in Hip-Hop this year (and since 2015’s Luv Is Rage, really). The project sees a couple of features from Pharrell Williams and The Weeknd and is led by the runaway smash hit (and oddly-spelled) “XO TOUR Llif3”. Not much more to say here: press play and rock out for the rest of the year.

Action Bronson – Blue Chips 7000

Almost just as badly as a Lil Uzi album, Action Bronson’s fans have been holding out for a new release from Action Bronson since 2015’s Mr. Wonderful. Since then, the Queens representative has increased his foodie/chef profile, thanks to his F***, That’s Delicious series expansion from YouTube to VICELAND and his cookbook of the same name. Now, he’s back to the music with Blue Chips 7000, the third installment of his highly-respected mixtape series. The features on this one are light; Rick Ross, Jah Tiger and Bronson mainstays Meyhem Lauren and Big Body Bes make appearances. Singles include “Let Me Breathe” and “The Chairman’s Intent” (both of which have some of the nuttiest visual moments in Hip-Hop this year).

This month, A$AP Mob have been on an absolute tear this August AWGEST: in addition to their forthcoming second installment of Cozy Tapes, A$AP Ferg and A$AP Twelvyy have delivers new projects as well. First, the Mob:

Below lies the (mostly) New York-based collective’s new visual for “Feel So Good,” which sees them performing the track in a photoshoot setting (simply, yet effective):

They also performed the track live on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon:

Adding to that is A$AP Ferg, who saw the release of his new mixtape Still Striving, a 14-track offering and sees appearances from Playboi Carti, Migos, Meek Mill, Cam’ron, Famous Dex, MadeInTYO, Rich The Kid and more. The crown jewel on the project is his full tilt remix to “East Coast,” which originally features Remy Ma and now sees hard-hitting verses from Busta Rhymes, A$AP Rocky, Dave East, French Montana, Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg. The visual for that is added along with a stream of said mixtape below.

By the way: Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy drops August 27th.

A$AP Worldwide continues to makes waves in 2017. First off, A$AP Rocky liberates a unique music video for his latest single “RAF,” which he co-directed alongside Austin Winchell and Hidji Films. The clip functions like a Raf Simons fashion show and also features Playboi Carti and Migos‘ Quavo (Lil Uzi Vert and Frank Ocean were on the original, yet don’t show up this go ’round).

In related news, Rocky and his A$AP Mob mates are taking their show on the round — they recently announced the Too Cozy Tour, which will additionally see Ferg, Twelvyy, Nast, Ant, Playboi Carti & Key! all over America this Fall.

You can enjoy both the “RAF” visual and tour dates below. Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 should be arriving sooner than later.

Following last year’s successful celebration, A$AP Rocky and the gang (A$AP Mob) have announced details for the second annual Yams Day concert, which pays tribute to its namesake — and A$AP Worldwide architect — A$AP Yams, who tragically passed away in 2015. Included in the line-up for the event: Joey BADA$$, Cam’ron, Lil Uzi Vert, TDE (could this mean that Kendrick Lamar and Black Hippy will be making an appearance?), Danny Brown and Flatbush Zombies…essentially, Yams Day will be nothing short of a family affair. Even Tyler, The Creator is listed as one of the “special appearances” set to take the stage in honor of Yams (real name: Steven Rodriguez).

It all goes down at Madison Square Garden’s The Theater on the 18th of January (the anniversary of Yams’ unfortunate passing).
