What is your name and what city do you rep?
PeacefulPinder I was born and raised in Seattle and spent a couple years in LA.
Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?
“TraPeaceArtist is my debut album, it drops June 26th. The inspiration for the project was really telling my story growing up in a drug and alcohol infested home. Abuse of substances was heavy and violence was everywhere. The project concept is trap, melodic sounds that tell the story in a fun way of overcoming those obstacles and creating a life of abundance and bliss.”
What is unique about you and your music?
“There is an originality to my songwriting, flows and cadence. Feedback is usually that I don’t really sound like anybody and I enjoy that I want to create my sound and style within hip-hop.”
What shaped your music?
“Life experiences and listening to other music growing up. I loved to listen to Nas, Big L, and Jay-Z growing up, and recent influences have been J.Cole and Russ type artists.”
When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
“When I started freestyling at parties and people would just vibe and get so hype about the bars and flow that it was time to take it serious.”
What type of music do you listen to?
“Mainly hip-hop, but i enjoy some Rock n Roll, and chill hop type music.”
What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
“I love to play and coach basketball, it is important to me to give back to the youth and make a positive impact on their lives. Give them the type of wisdom, knowledge and conversation that was helpful to me growing up.”
Happiness to you is…
What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?
“Be patient. It is a long term game, perfect the craft and spend a lot of hours learning and executing each part with diligence. Recording, mixing, mastering and producing all of it.”
