1. What is your name and what city do you rep?
My name is Ashton, aka Lita$hton, and I come from a small town in Virginia, called Martinsville.”
2. Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?
“My latest releases show my diversity and how I can make a different vibe to any song/beat. I wasn’t really inspired by anything, it was kinda just me and my homeboy finding the beat and like, oh yeah, this hard, we gotta get on this.”
3. What is unique about you and your music?
“The most unique thing about me and my music I think would be how every song that is dropped, is going to sound different from the last one. I feel as if I can change my flow around and I also have my own sound.”
4. What shaped your music?
“The thing I think shaped my music the most is the progression. The more I was rapping/recording, the better the song would be each time I would record. Also just the ups and downs of life, really had a whole lot to do with my music.”
5. When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
“I can’t really say I make music, “professionally,” because I haven’t made it to that point yet, I’m just happy with the progression that I’ve made and always ready to take it to the next level.
6. What type of music do you listen to?
“The type of music I listen to is really similar to my own so mainly Rap, but not a whole lot of mainstream rap artists.”
7. What inspires you to write music?
“I was always inspired by the wordplay of artists, for example, Lil Wayne, my ma used to play him a lot growing up and I would try to write music with no beat, so I think that really gave me the whole idea to start rapping.”
8. What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?
“Other than music I just live life. If I’m not at work, outside of work, I really try to focus on my music the most if not anything else.”
9. Happiness to you is…
“Happiness to me would be having good energy, for yourself and around you, and also having no worries with positive thoughts. It’s more of a mental thing for me.”
10. What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?
“One thing I wish I was told would be to never give up. If it’s something you’re passionate about you should never stop doing it no matter what anybody tells you. Just keep working and you gone get to where you want to be in life.”
11. Tell us about your upcoming projects…
“I ain’t gone say too much about it, just be on the lookout for what’s coming.”
