What is your name and what city do you rep?

“Ricks About My Bag is what I will be going by, and I’m from North Fresno.”

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

“The last song I put out is called, “The Hottest,” it’s a song me and one of my close friends/ brother made before the year was up. All the people I make music with are going to be big one day. In the song we just let the people know we are going to be the hottest rappers to ever come out the city as solo and group artists.”

What is unique about you and your music?

“I try to tell a good story in my music and might teach you something if you listen. Something unique about me is I’m going to stand out at all times.”

What shaped your music?

“My life and what I go through.”

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

“In 2018 when we started we know we would be big, we just never quit. It was a lot to figure out but we did and we are here now.”

What type of music do you listen to?

“I listen to all different types of music, but most the time I just listen to rap music.”

What inspires you to write music?

“I feel like it was a good way to express myself I’m a introvert and don’t really talk a lot.”

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

“I like sports, but I never have time to go out and play. I’m going to try and get back in the gym this summer. I’m just always researching and working on music.”

Happiness to you is…

“When your doing what you want in life and your happy. Some people make a lot of money, but hate the job they work.”

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

“Open your own business when you turn 21 and build your business credit so you will have a budget to make a hit when your young. Never sale your music to a record label.”

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

“I’m getting ready to drop my first album by myself. All on the label, About My Bag, records. It’s going to be about 20 songs and the beat budget is going to be about 2k. So on this album I’m not playing no games. I have a feature with Nef The Pharaoh on the album. Other then that feature, I plan to get artists from the city.”

“I have music streaming on all platforms under the name of AMB Ricks, but I’m changing my name to Ricks About My Bag. You can find me on all media’s @Ricks_aboutmybag.”

“It’s not over night it takes time to be great. Take a step in the right path everyday and you’ll end up where you want to be. Your hard work will pay off. About my bag.”
