Rich Dunk has been putting some “BOP” in it for a while now. As an artist for Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment, he has been consecutively getting his name out there. With the recent release of his single, “Gas Gas,” he straight going to give it to you. He is dare to be different by having only one dread. Having over eight million views for the hit record, “High School,” Dunk can’t do no wrong in the hip-hop game. We caught up with the Charlotte native and discussed the concept of “High School” visual, his EP, ‘Dread or Die,’ and more.
RESPECT.: Tell us about your single “Gas Gas?”
It is out now, and we are shooting a visual to it.
RESPECT.: Why did you name it “Gas Gas?”
Haha.. if you listen to the song, you will know.
RESPECT.: With your “High School” visual that has over eight million views, what was the concept of it?
People are trying to be gangsters now. Baby played the nerd and I was the bully. It was funny.
RESPECT.: As you become a Billion Dollar artist, tell me the start to finish. The experience.
They saw me by passing out CDs, aka street team.
RESPECT.: What made you start doing one dread?
Dare to be different. I know if I go with a 1,000 people, I will stand out.
RESPECT.: Tell me about your EP that recently came out called ‘Dread or Die.’ What was the concept of that and why did you name it?
I want to focus on my dread. So when you see the cover, all you see is my eyes and the dread.
RESPECT.: Will there be any upcoming singles on the way, since 2020 has started?
