Hailing from Hamilton, Canada, Dave Lost is one to look out for. With his new single “Energy” out, Dave Lost proves he is ahead of his time.
Dave Lost draws on Martin Sole to put together a single which is hard hitting as it is diminutive. The single rides on the coattail of Dave Lost’s freshmen tour with LA’s Xavier Wulf. The songs explores a theme of resentment to those who are not true to what they say.
If you know history of Hamilton you know it was the birth place for punk bands like Teenage Head. It was only matter of time that a new generation of kids who are heavily invested in hip-hop and rap but carry DNA from genres like punk simply because of where they come from, to emerge. Dave Lost could be seen as one of them new gen kids who is majorily meshing elements of that history & it’s mosh-pit friendly unpredictable rhythm. “Energy” honestly sounds like something to go literally go crazy to but isn’t traditionally something you can dance to. But it can be understood and appreciated simply off the strenght of the diverse sound he has.
