Unless you lived under a rock last year, then you’ve witnessed the rise of Los Angeles native, Las Vegas transfer BBKnight (FKA: Lil’ Knight). After amassing half a million views on his breakout hit, “Zines,” Knight buckled down with his team and has steadily been releasing some of the best visuals all year. Never one to sit idle, Knight returns with his brothers BBKoat & Heartbreak ICY for his spooky new video for, “Friday, The 13th.”
Produced by Jean-Pierre, almost immediately the song entraps you with it’s thumping bass-kicks and Knights catchy, “BEE!” adlib to compliment it, right before Knight absolutely rips into the beat. One knock on the crew of upstarts, has been their lack of “lyricism,” — which is cap — but on this one, the trio of youngsters tag-team the beat as if it owed them money. After Knight goes, rising Vegas rapper Koat comes in and lets it fly right before 17-year-old ICY delivers without a doubt the best verse on the song.
The best part about the video isn’t the lyricism, though. It’s the package of everything put together that makes it hard to turn your head away. The look, the swag, the visual effects and most importantly, the music, can carry this track, and video, to potentially new heights for the group.
Check out the video for, “Friday, The 13th” above and be sure to get familiar with the BB crew.
