Brooklyn’s own Hoolie Gu debuted his highly anticipated EP, ‘Look At Me Now’ at Fight Klub Studios in New York City (credit by artist and Indie City Industry).
In an exclusive interview with Billboard editor Carl Lamarre, Lamarre raved about the EP stating “This EP is fire.”
The duo shared had a live sit-down to discuss the process of creating his latest project and journey in the industry.
‘Look At Me Now‘ talks overcoming tragedy, poverty, police brutality and the willpower to keep moving forward even when the world is trying to keep him off track. Gu also credits Jay-Z and Tupac as some of his greatest musical inspirations.
When asked about the length of his EP Gu shared, “I have so much music I didn’t know how much to give y’all but I went with 5, more to come.”
Gu’s hit single off the project, “Make It or Take It” has since debuted on Billboard as well.
Hoolie Gu, born Rayshawn Martinez on August 18th 1990, is a rapper, actor, and CEO from Eleanor Roosevelt Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, NY. The Brooklyn native performed alongside Chicagoan Chief Keef for the Two Zero One Seven tour in February 2017 and is set to release other projects later this year.
