Currently, Mac Miller is gearing up to release his new album Swimming on August 3rd — we got the first taste of that with his single and visual for “Self Care.” Now, the Pittsburgh rapper gives us a little G-Funk with his latest track, “What’s The Use?,” which is produced by Pomo but also sees uncredited (?) assistance from Dam-Funk, Thundercat, Snoop Dogg and The Internet‘s Syd.
Miller recently sat down with Zane Lowe at Apple Music’s Beats 1 to discuss the new single:
“I just like having something that comes on and it makes people wanna move in a different way… You know, I’m in a funky time in my life, you know what I mean?”
He also used that platform to give his take on his ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande, who is now engaged to comedian Pete Davidson:
“I was in love with somebody. We were together for two years. We worked through good times, bad times, stress and everything else. And then it came to an end and we both moved on. And it’s that simple.
It’s all positive energy…I am happy for her and [I’m happy that she is] moving forward with her life, just as I’m sure she is with me.”
Enjoy “What’s The Use” and his full Zane Lowe sit-down below. BONUS: Also included is another track titled “Small Worlds.”
