Empire Record signee Devyn Adair is sexy, beautiful, talented and ready to show the world what her smooth and pure voice is capable of. Devyn has a lot of content on the way but most importantly, her debut project Filters is dropping in July. We are so excited for her we just had to check in and chat about the forthcoming EP. Check out the interview below!
RESPECT.: You recently dropped a single called “Maybe” Featuring Compton’s AD. What was it like making the record?
As soon as the producer played the beat for me it automatically gave me nice vibes and I got a lot of energy from the song. I listened to it a little bit then came up what I came up with. I met AD and he’s really cool! We had a feeling his sounds and work would sound really good on the track. It was a cool vibe!
RESPECT.: Who are your musical influences?
Growing up I listened to Mariah Carey, Alicia keys, and Aaliyah. I can go on and on.
RESPECT.: Take us into your upcoming project filters. Explain where the title came from.
I am so excited. Especially because it’s my first project coming out. I named it filters because it is kind of a filter of me. It kind of relates to Instagram and how every photo lets you put a different filter on it. A lot of the songs I’ve wrote myself so they are super personal at the same time. It definitely has a modern 90’s feel to it and that is the best way I can describe it.
RESPECT.: What exactly are you excited for people to hear?
My lyrics. There are songs on there that really came from my heart and I’m excited to hear what people think. I’ve been waiting for this for awhile. I’ve already started working on songs for my next project.
