Authentic Convos is an inclusive experience Hosted by New Jersey native Ayana Iman that fervently promotes love, healing, and face-to-face thought-provoking dialogue within diverse communities across the country. During this installment the focus was on Health and wellness both mental and physical.
Celebrity trainer Anowa Adjah opened the event with light cardio and High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T.). She gave the attendees a nice demo of what her famous “lose the gut keep the butt” 30-day challenge is all about! Mixed Martial artist and Yoga instructor Martesse Gilliam led with his Vinyasa Yoga technique, which heavily focuses on breathing between each movement, the importance of strengthening your core and gaining flexibility through the practice of yoga.
Lunch was rounded out with good conversation from each guest instructor; one of them — Spencer St. Fleur — gave her testimony about her journeys in life and the mental health barriers that accompanied their growth. All three instructors spoke about the value of therapy and mentorship, and how it helped guide them to becoming some of the best fitness trainers and influencers around.
Sway in the Morning co-host and ‘edutainer’ Tracy G led the last instruction, giving the attendees a taste of her “audio vision board,” a daily meditation/affirmations series set to the background of some “bomb ass beats” (as Tracy likes to say). The focus is on getting the best out of the human experience and creating a strong “I am…” for yourself as you go through your daily endeavors.
