Queens has long been a thriving piece of Hip-Hop’s history. Whether you’re mentioning obvious titans like Nas, new faces like Action Bronson or even the storied beef the borough has had with Brooklyn claiming to be the birth place of the genre, Queens is just always mentioned. Looking to carry the torch, Queens native ILL Fabe checks into the pages for the first time with his new single, “Status Quo.”
Kicking energetic rhymes over a traditional sound with unique twists provided by K$, Fabe enlists Larry Swiff and Sabor for an all out attack on the track. “I just wanted people to comfortable with the life that they chose for themselves,” says Fabe to RESPECT. over email. Echoing that statement, the FreeThought general takes to enlightening flow, creating a well rounded song.
With more on the table as ILL Fabe turns his attentions towards shows and more music from his FreeThought squad, it seems as if now would be the best time to hop on the bandwagon.
Check out, “Status Quo” below.
