No matter how much the purists try to push and pry, club music will always have a place in Hip-Hop. For every Mos Def, a lyrically-dense wordsmith who’s sole responsibility is to make you scrunch your face like you just smelled a fart, there’s five Mase’s–silky smooth, melodically driven rappers who place women above bars. That’s not to say that Mase didn’t have bars, or that Mos couldn’t rock a party, it’s just to say that there’s a place for everything in Hip-Hop, paving the way for promising artists like Midwest native Young Thunder, who checks in with his newest single, “Living.”
Sticking to a bass-heavy slapper provided by producer, The Dream Beats, Young Thunder lets loose about the finer things in life, and how to appreciate them. With so many people worried about tomorrow, sometimes It could be hard living for today. The single comes off of Thunder’s upcoming project, ‘Synced‘ which is set to release on February 2nd.
Check out the track, “Living” below and be sure to get familiar with the Indiana native.
