Hip-Hop and Martial Arts have long been joined at the hip. Most recently, you’ve seen artists like Post Malone, 21 Savage and of course Kendrick Lamar pay homage to the art form, while genre pioneers like Wu-Tang Clan created a whole brand off of utilizing Martial Arts techniques and terminology. Channeling the energy of the aforementioned names, while taking it up just a notch, Harlem to Las Vegas transfer, RED kicks in the door with his electric new single, “Bruce Lee.”
Produced by buzzing beat-maker, Pgntllo (credits: RiFF Raff, Yowda, Kiari The Stone & more), “Bruce Lee” is a high octane, cleverly worded warning to everybody who dares to stand in RED’s way. “R-E-D the challenger, she get smashed like Gallagher, fuck with me we gon’ put you in the dirt,” rhymes the Harlem native over spaced-out synths and towering 808’s that hit you in the chest like a roundhouse.
Check out the energetic track below and be sure to keep an eye on RED, who’s set to be on tour early January on the east coast.
