Tory Lanez joins many of his peers in fighting against the injustice happening in America with his new visual for “Shooters,” which begins with a gruesome message about police brutality (we see Lanez avenging his family’s death against a cop, only for tables to turn shortly after). Even as the track centers on flexing and living the fast life, the jarring clip sees imagery and symbolism of guns, “Trump” country, human targets and zip tie arrests. In one scene, a Black women hold her hands behind her hands while a bullet-riddled portrait of the American flag can be scene on her back. Like fellow Canadian Drake, Lanez has deep ties in the United States, and he’s definitely using his fame to bring attention to what’s wrong with it.
Enjoy “Shooters” above and pick up the single via iTunes. The track is said to be taken from Lanez’ follow-up to I Told You, titled Memories Don’t Die.
