Five years after Year Of The Dragon, Busta Rhymes is looking to make a return to the top with his latest — the Caribbean-flavored “Girlfriend,” which sees the Hip-Hop legend connecting with Tory Lanez and currently-incarcerated Vybz Kartel. Now, he has a big budget clip to accompany the track.
Co-directed with Benny Boom, the video sees Busta and long-time protege Spliff Star in Jamaica, where he meets up and breaks bread with the who’s who of Reggae/Dancehall royalty: Beenie Man, Ninja Man, Junior Reid, Foota Hype, Spike and Bounty Killer all make cameos in the cinematic feature. At some point, Busta then stopped by the jail to holler at the World Boss, where he “performs” his verse.
