It appears as though, with the many dope albums that have been released last night (and continue to drop today), Rich The Kid surprises us with a new song. It’s one he’s been teasing for a minute too. Except yesterday, he gave the ultimate teaser, basically said it was dropping when he posted the single art on his Instagram with the caption, “DROP A COMMENT ???? IF I SHOULD DROP TONIGHT…????♂️?”
It’s clear that the fans vote was yes. The record finds production from Atlanta’s Nard & B, who never cease to amaze us with their sound. The duo cooks up the ultimate slurred, trap anthem for Rich the Kid to flex his lean-riddled mind on. The production feels like it’s mixed backwards, with synths going in one ear and out the other, while a constant ticking adds to the excitement.
Rich the Kid also released his anticipated Rich Forever 3 mixtape on June 16, which contained 14 new songs from Rich, Famous Dex, and Jay Critch.
Rich the Kid has been surprisingly quiet in recent months, perhaps he’s preparing something big. The rapper has been relegated mostly to features, recently appearing alongside Lil Pump on the song “Next”. However, “Cookies & Sherbert” is exciting not only because it marks a return to Rich The Kid’s personal music, but because of how finely tuned it is. Thanks to Nard & B, this record is one of his most well-produced and put together records. His latest effort can also be found on iTunes.
