Boy. Tyler, The Creator is definitely making headlines for a variety of reasons. Here’s the biggest: this week, his forthcoming studio album Scum F*** Flower Boy caught an unfortunate leak…as a result, many of his (fake) fans have already begun dissecting certain tracks, many of which may or may not reveal that his lines between sexual preference are blurred. You can wait until the album drops to listen, but here’s an excerpt from the track “Garden Shed”:
Garden shed for the garçons
Them feelings I was guardin’
Heavy on my mind
All my friends lost
They couldn’t read the signs
On another track, Tyler also reveals that he’s “been kissing White boys since 2004.” Whether or not this is all tongue in cheek is yet to be confirmed. It should also be noted that Frank Ocean‘s business was revealed very similarly: while he had an open letter in the liner notes of his album Channel Orange, it was actually a presenter asked him about lyrics during an interview prior to that release.
Scum F*** Flower Boy is officially released July 21st (pre-order via iTunes). In the meantime, you can check out another new track, “Boredom,” below. If you missed it, you can also enjoy “Who Dat Boy” (which is now charting, his first single to do so apparently) and “911 / Mr. Lonely” here.
