Kodak Black has been released from Florence County jail in South Carolina, on $100,000 bail.
Since late May 2016, Kodak Black has remained behind bars for a number of serious criminal charges. Black, was arrested just before he was set to go on the Parental Advisory Tour with Lil Uzi Vert, after police witnessed Black purchasing marijuana. The incident quickly turned into a high-speed chase which ultimately ended in marijuana and weapons charges. Recently, Black was extradited from Florida to South Carolina where he faces another serious charge of sexual assault.
Earlier today, the Sun Sentinel reported that Kodak Black was in fact free. The young Florida rapper posted a photo to his official Instagram account (see below) celebrating his new found freedom.
“I’m happy to finally be going home to my family and friends,” he wrote. “I look forward to clearing my name in the very near future. I want to thank God, my family, my team (Vanessa, Phatboy and James McMillan), Atlantic Records, my lawyers and all of my fans for your continuous love and support. I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love most – working at being the illest rapper alive.”
Before recent legal troubles brought Kodak Black’s career to an abrupt halt, he was beginning to create some serious buzz around his music. He even received a co-sign from Drake via Instagram, and features from French Montana and Gucci Mane.While Kodak Black may no longer be behind bars, his case involving an alleged rape is still on going.
