John Legend Reveals his New Single "Love Me Now"

It feels like a long time since John Legend has been on the front lines of the music scene. Fans are pretty far removed from the artist who — with the help of G.O.O.D. Music and Kanye West — brought the world hit records like “Ordinary People,” “Used To Love To” and even more recent, pop-friendly cuts like “All Of Me” and the Andre 3000-assisted “Green Light” (he also made Wake Up! with The Roots, which should be acknowledged in every conversation). Aside from 2014’s “Glory,” it seems that Legend has preferred keeping his work behind the scenes; these days, his presence is mainly via his active efforts to push social change and his marriage to model-turned-possible mail criminal Chrissy Teigen.

Thankfully, John Legend has been crafting more beautiful music as well. Last night, the Grammy-winning singer blessed the masses with his first official offering for the year — the new single “Love Me Now,” which (with the help of Teigen) was initially revealed via his official website. The track is an ode to giving your everything to that special someone before it’s too late, as the “perfect kinda love” could “fall apart” at anytime. Beautiful music, indeed.

“Love Me Now” is available now; you can enjoy the lyric visual for the track below. As far as what’s next, Legend took to Facebook to give details on his forthcoming album Darkness & Light, which will feature the likes of Miguel, Chance The Rapper and Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard. Expect that to drop sometime before year’s end.
