It comes at no surprise that Drake is continuing to build his business portfolio in Houston, Texas. On Sunday night, Drake announced that he is opening a “classy” strip club called The Ballet. The new business venture is scheduled to open early 2017, catering to a new dance experience, “where the women are on a pedestal and the surroundings are unforgettable,” stated on a recent Instagram post.
Although the new event space is about “a culture out there of dancing and it’s not about no strip club shit,” Drake should be completely honest with himself. He has a profound interest in Houston strip clubs, specifically, mentioning notable dancer, Maliah Michel, whom he fell in love with at Dreams Houston, on his single “Miss Me,” via Thank Me Later. And, let’s not forget his new video for “Childs Play,” as it follows Drake through VLive, a strip club in Houston, TX.
Adding a new element to the urban strip club experience, this video suggest aerial silk dancers to assist in the night life enhancement. Drake stated, “It’s about these amazing women that we’ve got in one spot, this music we’ve got, this Houston culture that we got. And I just wanna let you know that, me, I’m going to bring it to you in the most honest and genuine way possible.”
Such a calculated business maneuver by Drake as he teased the event during his Summer Sixteen Houston tour stop. The popup club event is a preview of what fans can expect in the near future.
