Tory Lanez hasn’t given us any reason to doubt that his highly anticipated album I Told You– which drops Aug. 19– wont be anything less than great. If we thought the his first single “Flex” was jamming, his new cut “Cold Hard Love” is heatrock. This is a very mature track. The Toronto artist goes falsetto as he utilizes his high-pitch vocals for just over five minutes. Then at the end, he switches up and delivers a fire verse just as always.
“Cold Hard Love” is just another example of Tory displaying his versatility as an artist. Since the world discovered this Canadian born artists, he has built his fan base and given us music in a variety of ways nothing in the ordinary. From dance hall hip-hop songs like “Controlla,” and “Luv,” to old school ’90s R&B like tracks “Say it,” Tory has shown that there is nothing he can’t do.
I might have taken the Interscope signee sometime, but you know what they say, “You can’t rush greatness,” and if this album like any of his Fargo Friday releases this album will be great.
