Vince Staples is one of the most honest figures in hip-hop. He is a talented young musician who really made a name for himself as one of the most promising artists of the new generation with his album Summertime 06 and stand-out singles “Norf-Norf” and “Señorita.” He hasn’t put out very much new material since the release of his debut in 2015, but he has continued to stay in the public eye due to his hilarious social commentary and his willingness to voice his perspective on a wide range of topics within music and hip-hop.
In a recent interview with Fader, Vince announced some exciting news. He has an EP on the way and it’s titled Prima Donna. According to the interview the EP is six songs and is set to release sometime this summer. Fader describes the EP as sonically very dark and it seems like Vince takes risks both conceptually and musically with this project. Prima Donna features production from James Blake and DJ Dahi along with others who were not yet named. As more info gets released about this project the anticipation will continue to grow. We will keep updating you as soon as we hear more. For now, you can check out the entire Fader cover story on Vince Staples here.
