This is how you win at life, no? Last December saw the release of Lil Nas X’s viral single “Old Town Road,” a track that shot up the charts and showed the possible progression of Country music — except that outlets (including Billboard) didn’t think that it was Country music. We wonder why.
Undeterred, Nas X then hit them with the ultimate hee haw by getting motherf***in’ Billy Ray Cyrus on the remix, effectively cementing his stake in an evolving genre. The track bangs like hell, too.
