The south has will forever be a major influence on the rest of the country. Artists like Outkast, Goodie Mob and, most recently, Future have held Atlanta down while chopped and screwed legends like DJ Screw, Mike Jones, and the late Pimp C have always held down Texas. Lone Star native J’Moris hopes to be next in that crop with his innovative EP, Moris Better: The Hangover.
Featuring a modest six tracks, Moris Better: The Hangover plays as an ode to the days of candy paint and spinnin’ rims with a modern twist. Tracks like “Lesbian” and “Long Night” feature that signature screwed sound we’ve come to love from Texans while keeping it fresh with new flows. But it’s the track, “Crazy” which features Moris offering his most intricate bars. “Shoot for success but Family Matters got my wins low” raps Moris, showing off his creative wordplay while giving you insight into is mind.
With a southern bounce to it that’s reminiscent of the legends and a fresh new take, Moris Better: The Hangover is a project you don’t want to sleep on, although you probably already are. Stream the project below and let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
