Meek Mill dropped some more heat with a freestyle featuring Fabolous covering Fat Joe‘s new banger, “All The Way Up.” Meek might just be the underdog of the past year after this week. Winning the Best Rap Album of the Year award on Sunday night’s Billboard Awards over his rival, Drake and a few more recognizable opponents including Kendrick Lamar, and Dr. Dre might have brought Meek out of a rut. After his award show glow, he decided to bless us with a single from his anticipated Dreamchasers 4 and now this?! This is actually “Love Foreal.”
The freestyle with Fab gives us the Meek we know and love, spewing threats and calling out rapping opponent’s like none other. Coming out hot with the first line direct as possible Meek spits, “Catch you out in traffic, just you and I,” and later, “Views from the project, and n***a I’m the prospect.” It’s clear Meek isn’t ducking for cover any time soon and brought out ammunition with one of the hottest beats out right now. Just to give a little credit when it’s due, its worth mentioning, “All The Way Up” is produced by a Miami native, Edsclusive.
Back to the topic at hand, one can’t go on without mentioning the legendary Fab and his contribution to making this freestyle an instant hit. His flow and word play has always been one for the history books. Just to preview Fab’s heat, a quick couple lines state “I took her but I brought her back/Don’t want her back, I bought her bag/Matte like Hasselbeck, I call my car a quarterback.” Sheeeeeshhhh. Try saying that 3x fast.
Hopefully, this is not the last we hear of Fab this summer considering the last album he dropped was a year ago with Summertime Shootout . I’d say its about that time. And we already know Meek has some more bangers on the way. This song isn’t the only thing goin’ all the way up.
