As I was on my way to Sunday service, there was a black truck I walked past with rainbow colors. The colors were the outfits of the two women on the truck and the name “Immeasurable” on it. I wasn’t really sure what the church had to offer on this morning, but I knew it would be interesting to find out about.
The choir sang, the preacher fellowshipped with the congregation and tithes and offering were taken up. Then our pastor announced the name of the same rainbow truck that caught my eye. Two women come on the pull pit, eyes wandered as there isn’t as common coming into the church house. Each had on a pink shirts, a skirt and colorful leggings. One of the women was known as Ronnie, she wore an edgy but clean Mohawk, while the other young lady, Yanna, wore her hair in two pigtails. These women were definitely able to catch your attention, but once they opened their mouth, you knew they were hear to serve the Lord.
These women sung their single “He loves us,” which plays on 103.9, The Light. After giving us a duo of Donnie Mcclurkin’s “Great is your Mercy”, they explained themselves and their appearance started to make perfect sense. Their music gives you different vibes such as R&B, Hip-hop, Christian, Country and Pop, but still delivering a positive message.
Immeasurable is defined as without bounds or limitless, this duo certainly fits the definition with their style and music. Ronnie considers herself a warrior, which gives explains the Mohawk and Yanna wears pigtails giving off childlike, which leads to a representation of the “child” of God. You usually see the rainbow being represent for the LGBT community, but it symbolizes the promise God made to never flood this Earth again. Not only did their colorful style represent the promise, but also them being homeless and having to put certain donated clothes together. They give their audience a feel of what they came from and how it made them who they are today.
As Immeasurable travel and does bookings, their goal is to give proceeds to homeless shelters, helping them provide safe havens for people to stay. One thing that isn’t discussed is how shelters have bed bugs and some other health concerns, but these ladies want to make a difference.
After tears and love from the congregation. It was great to see these college women serving God for a greater person. You never can judge a book by its cover because you never know someone’s struggle. That day was a day they inspired many hearts and opened many minds in the church.
