Earlier today Billboard reported that Chicago native and 23-year-old artist Chance The Rapper has been hospitalized. Though details are scarce, the apparent hospitalization means that the musician had to drop out a previously scheduled performance at New York City’s Terminal 5. Chance was scheduled to perform as part of the “Night For NYC” event which is being held by the Robin Hood Foundation and is intended to raise money against poverty. While fans are sure to be disappointed in the absence of Lil’ Chano From 79th, the organization swiftly responded with the addition of Brooklyn native Joey Bada$$, Anderson .Paak, and super producer Mark Ronson.
ANNOUNCEMENT: @AndersonPaak, @MarkRonson & @joeyBADASS will be performing for #NYC4NYC @Terminal5NYC tonight in place of @chancetherapper

The setback couldn’t have came at a worse time for Chance & co. The artist is riding a high right now with his recent performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in which he debuted his new single “Blessings” as well as announcing the upcoming release of his new project Chance 3 which will be available May 13th. The demand for Chance has always been high with previous fan favorites 10 Day and Acid Rap, but he reached a new level of mainstream success this year when he performed his blistering verse from Kanye West‘s “Ultra Light Beam” live on Saturday Night Live which resulted in critical and mainstream acclaim alike. With so much going for Chano right now, we hope he can get past the minor setback and get back to the roll out of his highly anticipated album.
