Atlanta is well known for containing great talent and DJ SCREAM cosigns Calico Jonez heavy by addressing him as the hottest unsigned in the city. Born in Memphis, TN, Calico grew up in Northern California. His style of rapping derived from winning 1st place in Oakland, California at a Hip Hop Contest. Later that year, Calico was an opening act for MC Hammer at KMEL’s Summer Jam at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA in 1992. Jonez is President of Swish! Music Group, a Division of KIASHA Entertainment LLC. He has been featured on Soulja Boy’s S.O.D Money Gang music label, released the smash mix tape History in The Making, hosted by DJ SCREAM, which drove MySpace crazy leaving him with an astonishing 10.8 million views, an estimated 30,000 friends and over 13 million plays.
The teen sensation has been driving teens wild with his smash single “I Took Yo Chic” featuring Soulja Boy. Calico is featured on numerous mixtapes with some of the industry’s most notable artists to include: Soulja Boy, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Yo Gotti, Young Buck, Lil Boosie, Dem Franchize Boyz, Fiend and countless others. He has made numerous appearances in shows with multi-platinum selling artist “Soulja Boy Tell Em”, “Dem Franchize Boyz”, Yo Gotti, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, “Young Jeezy”, “Lil Boosie”, Gucci Mane, and many, many others.
