Nipsey Hussle gives a soulful ballad with a 90’s vibe in “Thug Life” featuring Young Thug.
Kicking off “Marathon Mondays,” Nipsey delivers another follow-up record after the politically fueled “FDT” campaign with YG that sparked the airwaves including a viral video shoot.
Hussle turns the chapter with “Thug Life,” which has a smooth, serene, and jazz-like melody. Young Thug versatility switches his traplike crooner to support the L.A. rapper in a duet.
Nipsey starts with a reflection of his continual achievements and milestones that he has made with the Marathon movement:
“Was on my grind, it was my time/
I ain’t think twice, I paid that price and we did this, n***a/
Reached every goal I actually set/
I had to sit back down and rearrange that list, n***a.”
“And now I’m out here gettin’ rich/
You know a n***a gotta talk my s**t/
And we out here gettin’ rich/
You know a n***a gotta talk my s**t.”
According to his Twitter page, Nipsey says he will deliver music every Monday until his highly anticipated debut studio album, Victory Lap releases.
“Thug Life” is the follow-up record after the politically-charged “FDT” (F**k Donald Trump) with YG.
Hussle shows it takes patience and timing in order to reach the level of success that you crave:
“Thought a hundred racks was gettin’ rich/
Risk a hundred years to hit a lick/
They said it take patience to get rich/
But I always knew one day I would do it big, then I did”
Nipsey is setting a solid pace in the second quarter of 2016. We can expect to hear more classics from the South Central bred rapper that will give his “Marathon members” something that will make them “Proud 2 Pay.”
