Late Monday night, iLoveMakonnen created quite a buzz. The release of “Can’t Let it Go” featuring Lil B–with production by Jae Marley–has already been played more than 63.2 thousand times and counting on the artist’s SoundCloud (ILOVEMAKONNEN). However, SoundCloud was not the only place where the “Tuesday” rapper was under the heat lamp. The two rappers are cookin’ up a tour and allowed the fans to have a say so on the tour dates, according to Makonnen’s Instagram:
If you’re a die hard Makonnen freak and worship the ground Lil B walks on, don’t sleep! Let the two touring buds know where you want them. Though there is no set dates for the tour, the fans have been going crazy. There has been more than 2,400 comments/ suggestions in the mere 20 hours since the “I Don’t Sell Molly no More” rapper posted it. It’s clear he must be selling something a little more potent.
The bright and abstract art work for the new single has also been recycled as their touring platform. Similar to their artwork, you’ll be immediately drawn to the upbeat, swaggarific, cookfest the duo has created. The single has set a bar for the two rappers. Makonnen’s signature sound mixed with Lil B’s ad-libs are something you really can’t let go of.
This seems to be a fresh start for Makonnen since he released a statement yesterday that he is no longer signed to OVO, according to Billboard. Here is the statement:
“I cannot thank OVO, 40, Oliver, Future & Mr. Morgan, enough for all that they have done for my career. No words can express how much I appreciate Drake for being a part of the success of Tuesday. I’m sure the haters will have something negative to say, but all in all my choice to be solely on Warner Bros Records was the right thing for me and for my best interest. Sorry there’s no beef to report, DRINK MORE WATER.”
Well, we are excited to see what Makonnen has in stores and we can’t wait to see where this tour takes him and Lil B.
