Drake and Future‘s collaborative album from last February, What A Time To Be Alive, becomes vividly accurate as both rappers received honorable mention regarding their swag.
Fashion and style are important to consider when revealing yourself to the world, especially if you’re two of the biggest rappers on the planet. Yesterday, GQ named Drake and Future the “Most Stylish Men in the World Right Now,” a title normally reserved for the usual suspects such as Kanye West or Pharrell. Not only have the 6 God and Future Hendrix landed a coveted spot on the list, but they also brought their likeness to the magazine’s “Most Stylish Men Alive 2016” issue.
GQ said they were speaking of men who “Look as sharp on the street as they do on the red carpet.”
Drake is praised by GQ for his low-key, rich guy style that allows comfort and luxury to casually meet. He plays this particular look effortlessly with his OVO clothing line that specializes in cotton tees, fleece sweatshirts, and sports jackets. It’s rare for the public eye to catch Drake walking around without a hint of his OVO branded style.
Similar to Drake, Future’s style is just as toned down. However, one recognizable item has became synonymous with the Atlanta rapper. We’ve all seen him wear the wide-brimmed hats that are part fedora and part Outback flair. According to GQ, Marc Williamson, owner of FlameKeepers Hat Club in Harlem, originally labeled the hat as “an old guy’s hat.” Because Future rocks the “old guy’s hat” like a hipster, more people are starting to catch on and rock the same headgear style he brought to the forefront. “It’s a look that’s enhanced by just a leather jacket or a T-shirt,” says Williamson. “And that’s just how Future gets down,” Williamson added.
Other notable people on the list include actors, Ryan Reynolds, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, producer, Diplo, and NBA player, Russell Westbrook.
