Oh my God. Drake is a pop culture phenomenon. We definitely have an aesthetic appreciation for his art. Drake’s come up was super strategic and has officially catapulted him to his own spotlight in main stream America. Drake is breaking down barriers in hip-hop. Matt Groening, The Simpsons creator, has finally co-signed Drake. It’s official now. Drake has gotten the stamp of approval. In case you were absentmindedly surfing the internet or saw last week’s episode of The Simpsons, the show spoofed Drake’s “Started From The Bottom.”
Bart Simpson, the show’s main character, allows a homeless woman to live in his bed room for free. This was far-fetched, we know, but it’s a cartoon. She resides in his closet for the most part. The cinematic treatment finds Bart apprehensive about this arrangement. His conscience gets the better of him; even though he is typically known for being troublesome on the show. He confronts the homeless woman and asks her to leave. She begs him to stay. The homeless woman offers him a dollar a day to live in his closet. She pays him five dollars, kind of an advance, to kick start their new living situation. Bart celebrates his pay day by wearing new sneakers, fitted cap, and chain.
For the most part, Bart’s character basically stunts for all of Springfield at the 98 cent store. He can be seen buying candy and dawdling to “Started From The Bottom.”This scene is very reminiscent to Drake’s actual video. This was nostalgia at its finest. However, in Drake’s video, it starts with a version of his younger self playing soccer. Fast forward a few years later and Drake can be seen working at a pharmacy. All the while he is rapping about his story of defeating the odds to fame. Check it out below.
