Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan are coming together to motivate the 20-somethings of Georgia to vote this Monday at free Rock the Vote concert at The Tabernacle in Atlanta.
Rock the Vote is an organization that aims to mobilize young people to register and vote for issues that matter to them. This non-profit, non-partisan group has traditionally enlisted the help of music and entertainment industry heavy-hitters to mobilize the millennial voting bloc.
This free concert in Atlanta precedes the midterm elections on November 4th, which are pretty tight in Georgia this year. The polls will decide a tight race between pro-choice Democrat Michelle Nunn and Republican David Perdue for the Senate spot. Not only that, but the state will also be selecting a new governor—either Jason Carter (former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson) and Jason Deal. In a press release Rock the Vote wrote, “Georgia makes a compelling case for why it is critical for young people—now more than ever—to turn out to the polls and make their voices heard.”
In order to encourage young people to register, Young Thug and Quan both committed to register to vote for 2016 with Rock the Vote on camera.
If you happen to be in the Atlanta area, you can click here to register for a chance at free tickets to the show on November 3rd.
