Lyfe Harris returns with a new song, ‘Too Many Ways’ featuring buzzing crooners JAHKOY, DCMBR and Ye Ali. The sultry slow jam is a much needed low-tempo number from Lyfe’s increasingly rich catalogue. Last time the trio were seen together it was on Ye Ali’s “Traphouse Jodeci 2” and have appeared as various features throughout each of their own music — to name one, ‘Let Me Go’ by Lyfe featured Ye Ali in 2013. Their music chemistry on the song is apparent. Along with DCMBR, three of the finest voices from this new generation of Future R&B, the result is a sound which is ultra-smooth in aesthetic and thoroughly potent in theme & execution.
“You’ve got too many ways / girl keep that same energy / how did we become enemies? / I held you down you were playing with me all season.”
The song basically has Lyfe, DCMBR, Ye Ali and JAHKOY expressing their lack of comprehension for their girls’ games, who always seem to have too many ways to play the boys. Appropriately giving it the “Too Many Ways” title, things get complicated, going hot and cold from lovers to enemies.
