This video is the latest media appearance Danny Brown has made in promotion of his new album Old. If you’ve listened to most of his music or watched any of the previous mini documentaries about the Detroit rapper, this video probably won’t tell you anything entirely new, but it’s interesting nonetheless. Danny always tells his story with a mix of humor and humility that’s engaging no matter how many times you’ve heard the tale. Performance trumps originality, in short.
But to go further, perhaps his willingness to repeatedly retell his story more importantly indicates how happy he is to simply have the opportunity to do it. He spent years grinding and waiting for this moment, after all. But that’s just speculation: we’d have to interview him ourselves to confirm it. In the mean time, watch the video here and come back soon for our review of Old.
