We don’t really know where Stüssy got the idea for dropping a new collection of sunglasses in the middle of winter, but we’re sure glad they did. In collaboration with Mosley Tribes, a popular eyeglasses retailer, Stüssy has created metal aviator sunglasses modeled after vintage motorcycle specs. Taking cues from the 1950s, where cable temples were prominently featured on frames for protective and utilitarian eye wear, the Stüssy x Mosley frames are 100% metal aviator with mineral glass lenses, an acetate sweat bar, and combination temples. A tribal print take from Stüssy’s storied archive will be featured on the Silver/Bone color way and in the custom packaging. The pattern is an update from Shawn Stüssy’s original “Tom Tom” design from the 1980s, which has been redrawn by artist Kate Gibb. Mosley Tribes for Stüssy is available now at Stussy.com and Stüssy Chapter Stores.
