DJ Greg Street, from V103 in Atlanta, along with the We Need 2 Read program held a 24 hour read-a-thon contest with the winning school receiving $10,000. The winner was determined by which school tweeted Greg Street the most about what books they had read. The purpose of the contest was to encourage students to indulge in reading, and to combat negative views students may have had toward literature. V.I.C. also showed up at the event to support the We Need 2 Read cause. The first place group read a total of 147 books.
