UPDATE: The disses are still coming (below).
Make no mistake: Grime — UK’s homegrown genre, which newbies can read more about here — is the spirit of Hip-Hop reincarnated. While America continues to experiment in melodies and party raps, Grime at its core is at its most aggressive, thanks to its emcees showing passion in bars not really seen on the other side of the pond nowadays (obviously, there’s people like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, but I digress). Add in still-relevant pioneers (ex. Wiley, Dizzee Rascal) and more recent big moments from the likes of Skepta and Stormzy, and you have a culture that now has the world’s full attention.
With that said, two of Grime’s most notable artists — Dot Rotten and P Money — have gone from OGz comrades to sworn enemies. While seeing any relationship sour is unfortunate, it can’t be denied that the disses that these two are bringing have Grime on fire right now.
Check out the ongoing releases below…you can get a timeline of how things came to be between these two here.
