Skepta is a jack of all trades, proving so with his new song “Hypocrisy.”
The song, released Sunday, is the latest fiery track written and produced by the UK rap star. The rapper purely is in his element on the song while he energetically hurdles his raps over a flickering Grime beat.
On “Hypocrisy,” the rapper creeps over a computerized build in the intro. “They tried to disrespect me, when they online especially” the rapper says before jumping into a vigorous Trap landscape.
Throughout the song, the MC is alive with bars riddled in confidence as well as pride. After the song’s hook, he whispers that he is “sh*ttin” and “p*ssin on” the hypocrisy he gets from people. As powerful as the beat is on the track, Skepta proves he is the song’s dominant force through his lyrics.
The artist recently concluded his Banned From America tour last month but now he appears to be back in the booth ready to murder tracks.
