This track flew under RESPECT.‘s radar, but thankfully the internet never forgets. Produced by Grandtheft and Christian Rich, “Deep” is an aqueous song that submerges the listener in a torrent of bass, hi-hats and warped vocals. Trap songs may be saturating the web right now, but when executed with such finesse , we can remember that trap’s rise to prominence wasn’t perchance; there really is something inherently engaging to the genre [when done right] . Watch the White Buffalo and Christian Rich-directed video below or purchase/stream the track here.
Afterthought: Wouldn’t it be interesting to hear Azealia Banks on this beat? She’s not doing the seapunk thing that much anymore, but it’s nice to speculate.
