Talib Kweli made a memorable appearance on CNN earlier today. Seconds after the interview with Don Lemon started, things got heated as they discussed the coverage of Ferguson. Kweli criticized CNN’s reporting of the tragic incident. He was angered by CNN’s title “Ferguson streets were calm until bottles fly”[sic.] The rapper-activist emphasized that from his perspective, on that night, that title, and the piece that came with it was “wrong.” Kweli had been in the particular location the journalists reported on and explains that the police were not chasing down men as the article indicates. Instead, they were chasing men, women and children. At that particular moment, Lemon defended CNN by explaining that Kweli’s perspective is just one of many. Kweli was frustrated by Lemon’s repeated interjections as he, himself was saying that his view is his own and he is only responsible for that.
