The single is a follow up to his release earlier this year titled “Bad Bunny” which was well-received amassing over 50,000 streams on Spotify alone.

The song is a classic hip hop banger and features boom-bap drum pockets that pay tribute to the hip hop legends of old. Listen to the track here:

Chloe Freedman is an aspiring music manager and the founder of Red Tape Management. She has worked with artists such as Lady Leshurr, Big Narstie, Saweetie, and more. As a graduate from Margaret Howard Theatre School located in the UK, at a young age she grew a passion for arts and music. Chloe’s journey began a few years ago, working in public relations. On this voyage she was able to gain valuable management experience.

She worked with top music executives and producers such as Cory Rooney, Rodney Jerkins, and Max Gousse. Chloe strives to utilize her love for music management and experience to help artists realize their potential and accomplish goals. She enjoys connecting with diverse artists and people who share a common drive for success.

We briefly discussed with Chloe how it all started:

Early Stages

“My background has always been within the entertainment industry. When I was 16, I attended performing arts college and trained in dance and musical theatre. Once I graduated college, I taught dance for 6 years. I have always had a passion for music and have been around music since I was young. Coming from a musical family plus my love for music and arts led me to this”

Creative Process

“The idea of being involved in building careers of talented artists and watching them grow everyday is something I loved. I have been fortunate enough to learn from some of the best in the industry including my current mentor ‘Cory Rooney’. Witnessing the greatness of some of the most successful managers/executives has taught me a lot over the years. After learning so many tricks of the trade and useful information, I quickly saw what to do to be successful.

Handling artists can be a challenge, but one of the most important lessons I have learned is to not let a line be crossed. Something I believe is a super important trait to have to be a good manager is patience, being strong will and being good with people. Everything moves so fast in this industry and you have to be able to stay on top of things and multitasking.

My role is to bring people together and being that go to person for your artists and team. I always keep myself to date with the industry, and always practice handling difficult people/difficult situations as this is something you will always run into. On the artist side of things it’s super important to be empathetic too, to understand that they are going to have bad days and good days.

Passion

Understanding that they are human, with feelings too is important. My passion for music business came about through my love for the arts. I want to make a difference and help be apart of paving the way for female managers and entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry. When artist feel like they are in a family like environment they begin to open up and become more foccus. I enjoy creating a place for them to feel supported while we work together as a team”

UK rap is an immense lane of its own. Over the years genres like Grime, Drum & Bass & Garage have at one point or another held the crown for major influential music urban movement du jour on the Isle. Beyond that, Hip-Hop, in a surprisingly pure formula has begun to flourish in England. One group that’s been in the UK Rap forefront amongst a heavy class of strong contenders are Young T & Bugsey who first went viral with their big song “4×4” and “Gangland” featuring Belly Squad but are far from new. Working their way from Nottingham to the contemporary scene, these boys have a chance to be the biggest rap duo coming out of the UK in 2020 and forward.

Grime and Rap as a genre in the UK has set a high bar with the foundational work laid down by MCs Wiley, Skepta & Stormzy so a lot of artists have been able to break into America expanding their fanbases and reaching more listeners as an active part of their campaigns. The duo has been busy with their debut album release rollout titled “Plead the 5th” with selective features and dynamite beats bringing together a unique sound that crosses between their heritage: dancehall with obvious influence of Hip Hop and Rap. Coming into the game with their own twang and flavour, the duo is one of the most exciting acts to hit the super globalised sphere that is the internet & social media. Between their busy time, the musicians spoke to RESPECT about the album, their favourite songs from it and whats to be expected from them this year and next.

RESPECT MAG: Which one of you is the melodic master and who’s comes up with heavier bars out of the two? Like do you guys have your own set role to play in the duo?

YoungT & Bugsey: Young T because he’s like he’s more lyrical and precise. He’s like, I feel like, the point of view he raps from he raps like a higher level point of view type of thing like he raps like he’s writing a story like T’s more lyrical.

RESPECT MAG: Who do y’all like more Modanna or Mariah Carey?

YoungT & Bugsey: Probably Mariah Carey because iv’e had more experiences of Mariah Carey songs more then Madonna innit.

RESPECT MAG: Your new project plead the 5th got very select collabs. Aitch collab was a big summer jam when it first dropped. We’re looking forward to the Fredo Single and how well that will do knowing he’s got a big buzz. Tell us about that track.

YoungT & Bugsey: One of the last songs, One of the last songs to go on the mixtape to go innit we already had it and like we kinda thought like we needed a feature for it and we thought it would make sense cause we’ve already done a song with him and we thought a part 2 on the tape would make sense to do innit.

RESPECT MAG: 2020 starting off very crazy with quarantine and everything are you guys staying in during Coronavirus COVID19?

YoungT & Bugsey: We wanted to go on tour at the end of April but due to obviously virus outbreak we can’t go on tour alongside like doing meet and greets like we wanted to do a couple of meet and greets with the fans to really connect with the fans and that but we can’t do that anymore cause obviously everyones on lockdown so that’s why it’s a bit it’s a bit annoying.

RESPECT MAG: We heard the tape and I can tell us there some really good song on there. Which ones are your favourites and why?

YoungT & Bugsey: I like all the songs but I think I like School Trip because i think it’s a sign that we know that we can do. It’s the type of music you know we could do but people don’t really know that we could make that type of music, they haven’t really heard that side, that side of vibe that we can bring.

I think I like Madonna i think it’s a, it’s a really nice song and the influences on the song are from Nottingham and from a lot of artists and the way that they make music and the things that they use so think it’s more of like a sentimental value to it. Right now these are the songs right now but in a few months it could change innit.

RESPECT MAG: On a musical pedestal from Nottingham to US you have worked a lot of people, name some of your favourite collabs to date.

YoungT & Bugsey: I would say Probably the collab with Aitch and “Gangland” with belly squad.

RESPECT MAG: Tell us about you guys musical influences, biggest idol? And why?

YoungT & Bugsey: My biggest musical influence I’d probably say is 50 Cent. I feel like 50 Cent was like the first rapper to really like really really convince me that you know I wanna be a rapper innit like I wanna be like that and I wanna do what he’s doing. We always wanted to, we linked up when we were 15-16 innit. Ever since we were 16 we never went to work we were musicians innit.

RESPECT MAG: If I to turn on your apple/Spotify playlist what current music I would find?

YoungT & Bugsey:. You probably find Frosty a bit of Frosty, NLE Choppa, and Roddy Rich their song are bangers.

RESPECT MAG: why do you guys think you work well together as a duo?

YoungT & Bugsey: Because I feel like we compliment each others styles innit, it’s like a thing were we’re both 50/50 like we’re both putting In 50% innit like it’s like no ones one uping anyone no ones better then anyone like we’re both equally as heard like we’re both sick like you can’t really explain it.

Drizzy’s support of Skepta, ‘BBK,’ and UK’s Grime scene all together is nothing new, just now a little closer to home. Since Drake performed with Rihanna at last night’s 2016 BRIT Awards, there’s no better time to announce you’re signing to an independent British grime label. The writing was on the proverbial wall when Drake got a ‘BBK’ tattoo on his shoulder last October, but now that the ink has metaphorically transferred from skin to paper, what does it really all mean? Is there a possibility he isn’t ACTUALLY signed? And what impact does it have with OVO sound’s roster moving forward. As the details unfold, Drake’s consistent reign as one of music’s most elite will surely remain in tact. Most likely, (this is purely my speculation) Drizzy’s “partnership” with ‘BBK‘ affords him the chance to further align himself with a major movement from the UK, allowing for more collaborative process, ultimately capturing what’s left of the Grime fanbase that weren’t already fans of his to begin with. Between Cash Money, Young Money, OVO, and now BBK, it’s going to be interesting to watch where (and how) all of the pieces fit. In the midst of the Meek situation, All-Star weekend, and ‘Looking for reveeeenge,” Mr. “Views” seems to be everywhere; From the UK to the 6.
Hailing all the way from London, Hudson East drops his much anticipated EP EastWay. This pristine and majestic EP, features production from: Syk Sense, NOVA, Bijan, Twenty9, and many more. EastWay is definitely something special that you’ll want to keep on replay, and experience. That’s the thing about this EP; it’s not just a project, it’s an experience. I know most people sleep on new artists, but Hudson East is definitely someone that you do not want to sleep on. EastWay is that cup of coffee that you need in the morning to get your day started. I’ll let the music speak for itself, press play and enjoy.

Dionne Bromfield has been making rounds over the years as a singer, collaborating with acts such as: Diggy Simmons, Mz Bratt, Lil Twist, and Tinchy Stryder, to name a few.

She has a soulful, vintage vibe to her and her sound has definitely matured over the years. She started making noise around the young age of 13. Now, at 19, Bromfield has had plenty of time to blossom as an artist. Put this in perspective: she’s been trained by a legend of our era. Bromfield is Amy Winehouse‘s goddaughter and protégé. You can hear Amy’s influence in her tone, but she definitely has her own unique sound.

The ballad, Black Butterfly, is a soulful tune that has you following her every note. When people think of Amy, this song makes a beautiful tribute by the right person, her godbaby. It was also co-written with hit-makers, Sia (Chandelier, Titanium, Rihanna – Diamond, etc.) and Chris Braide (Christina Aguilera, Lana Del Rey, etc.).

“There was a black butterfly that flew in at Amy’s funeral and it landed on Kelly Osbourne’s shoulder. It stayed there for the whole service, then flew out as soon as the service had finished. It’s probably the best song I’ve ever written, and I was crying when I recorded it.” (Source: Amy Winehouse Forever)

I don’t know how true this statement is, but if it’s true, then that’s beautiful.

This tribute allows the soul of Amy Winehouse to rest in peace…
