Respect: How did “Goin’ In” come together? What inspired the creative vision behind the song?

Cyrus Dobre: I wanted to create a summer song. An island type beat with good vibes. It felt like the
people needed that for good spirits and fun. Something the people can feel and dance to and come together with. My producer and close friend Eric produced the beat. Tory and I wrote the song.

Respect: Is there a reason you chose Tory Lanez as a feature for this specific song?

Cyrus Dobre: I chose Tory because he fit the vibe and his voice was a good match for mine on the track. He’s one of the most respected artists and is one of my favorite artists.

Respect: How long have you been making music for and how did you get your start?

Cyrus Dobre: I have been doing music for about 2 and half years. I started by writing Dobre Brothers
music and finding the right beats for our audience. The goal was to gradually grow the audience with the music.

Respect: How would you describe your sound for people who may not be familiar with it?

Cyrus Dobre: My sound has a pop/hip hop feel. I identify with many different genres and can make
different genres of music as they will hear in my upcoming EP. I also add an angelic/futuristic theme to my music.

Respect: What message do you hope people take away from listening to your music?

Cyrus Dobre: The message I hope the audience takes away is to live your dream, live life to the fullest, live with no regrets, and work hard and you’ll get what you want. Don’t be scared to take your life to the next level.

Respect: What can we look forward to next from you? Do you have any other projects in the works?

Cyrus Dobre: Fans can expect a five-song EP titled Next Level, that brings a new sound of music to the world. A sound they can sing, dance, and live to.

Ruben D. Sosa Jr. professionally known as Citoonthebeat is an award-winning music producer hailing from Jersey City, NJ. Cito’s father, a music director of a local church nurtured his interest in music at a very young age. By the age of 6 he had learned to play the drums, and by the age of 12 he had learned to play the piano. In 2007 Cito opened his first recording studio where he developed his talent for music production.

Cito’s first major placement was in 2016 on Troy Ave’s single “Chuck Norris,” a successful record that occupied the airwaves of New York City during the summer of that same year. The following year he worked closely with DJ Mustard and YG on the studio album “Stay Dangerous,” which is now certified Gold by the RIAA. In 2019 Cito was recruited by label APG to produce a record titled “Case Closed” for Kevin Gate’s EP “Only the Generals Gon Understand.” That same year Cito debuted his first independent single “Familiar” featuring Tory Lanez, TJ Porter, and Suigeneris.

Outside of LoVe me Now, Uno worked on Tory’s 2018 project Memories Don’t Die, producing standout cuts like “B.I.D” and “Connections.” Other artists he’s worked with consist of A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Rich the Kid, Zoey Dollaz, and more. Uno also helped produce A Boogie’s “4 Min Convo,” landing him another hit record. “[They heard the] beat and instantly asked me to send him that beat which I did,” Uno details the collaboration. Peep the interview below.

How did you come up with the name Uno?

I came up with the name “Uno” due to feeling like there’s only one me and that the energy and presence I have is irreplaceable.

Take me back to your teenage years, what was music like for you?

Music for me in my teenage years shaped me to be the man I am today. Music back then had more of a message inside the music compared to music now I love listening to old music especially music when I was in high school from 2005 to ’08.

How’d you get your foot into music?

I’ve been in music my whole life. My family is big in music all the way from, reggae, dancehall, and hip hop so it was natural for me to fall in love with music and pursue it.

You executive produced Tory Lanez’s 2018 album LoVE mE NOw, walk me through that experience.

LoVe me NOw is very special to me because I put that whole album together and to see it go No. 1 on Billboard is a dream come true. There’s no better feeling than your best friend trusting you and your ear to guide him on an album and allow you to lead. Especially with Tory, we are both Leo’s so we like to lead and never follow but in this case he allowed me to be great and trust me. I love him for life for that

What’s the conversation like when working with Tory Lanez?

The conversations with Tory is always full of jokes but serious at the same time. One thing that inspires me about Tory is how dedicated he is to his craft so I usually ask him what direction are we trying to go with the music and from there I find the beats or cook up melodies that I feel fits him well dope process we have together.

Did you have a chance to work on ‘El Auga’ or ‘Chixtape 5’ as well?

Yes I did get a chance to work on El Agua, we are still working on it. So far I have one record on there hoping to get a few more on there as well. Now for Chixtape 5, I usually just give him ideas for beats to sample at the moment I don’t have any placements but I did help get a few features for Tory on there. Hoping to land one or two on there because Tory is at the end of wrapping it up.

Outside of obviously Tory, who else have you worked with?

Outside of Tory, I’ve worked with Zoey Dollaz, A Boogie, G4 Boyz, Jacquees, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, and Rich the Kid.

Working with A Boogie on “4 Min Covo,” tell me a little about that.

So working with A Boogie is a pretty dope story. His right-hand man which is one my good homies, Qp, reached out to me about A Boogie coming to Miami and wanting to work with Tory so when they came into town I was playing beats n songs I placed for Tory and he heard the “4 Min Convo” beat and instantly asked me to send him that beat which I did. Eight months later I see him and Qp online asking who made the beat I reached out and told him it was myself and my bro CP Dubb who made the beat and the rest is history.

What are your goals for this year?

My goals for this year is to get more beat placements, place some dope hooks I’ve been in my songwriting back lately, and lastly, my biggest goal is to give the music game the best compilation album people have ever heard. Hoping to drop it at the end of the year. Name of my album will be I Can’t Miss.
