The ultimate East Coast/West Coast battle takes place on The Game‘s new track “The Soundtrack” featuring Meek Mill.

The song, weighing in just over the five-minute mark, features The Game and Meek swapping verses about their hometowns, Compton and Philadephia, respectively, and the struggles they faced in their day-to-day lives growing up in their neighborhoods. Raw and unfiltered, both rappers give it their all on this track and show the dark side of growing up on the streets, and how much dedication and effort it takes to rise above bad situations.

Ten years after The Game’s release of The Documentary, The Documentary 2 is slated for release sometime in 2015 if all goes well. This is the first track off of that anticipated album and can only stand as proof for what else is in store. Take a listen to the track below.

A little over two months ago, Game made an announcement to the world indicating that he would be releasing the sequel to his debut album, The Documentary, some time in the beginning of next year.

Today, the Compton emcee took to his official Instagram account to inform fans of a delay, but did go on to note that they can be expecting the sequel to hit the shelves on January 18, 2015, which will mark the official 10-year anniversary of his double platinum-selling debut album.

Nobody is f*cking with 2 !!!!!!!!! So don’t drop nowhere near me….. You’ve been warned !

In an interview conducted by Power 106’s Justin Credible and J Cruz, Game revealed that he will be working with Dr. Dre, Just Blaze and Scott Storch, all whom worked with him on the first album.

The Game brings us his explicit, West Coast version of the hit track, “Or Nah.” He teams up with Too $hort, Problem, AV and Eric Bellinger for the second single off his upcoming compilation album Blood Money: Year of the Wolf that is dropping in September. The rapper gets raunchy on the track, posing the question “You gonna let me hit it or Nah?” The song will be fun for parties and perfect for the summer. Check it out below.

Nearly a decade later, the Compton native has recently announced that a continuation of the album is officially in the works. In an interview with Power 106’s Justin Credible and J Cruz, he revealed that he’s been reaching out to the producers who worked on the first project. “I’m going back to the Just Blazes, Scott Storches, Dr. Dres… We gon’ get it handled,” he said.

Prior to releasing The Documentary 2, though, Game has been gearing up for his forthcoming compilation project titled Blood Money La Familia, set to be released this upcoming September. The project will include features from artists such as Wale, Problem, Wiz Khalifa and more.
