Denver Colorado’s Supreme Ace returns to our pages today with a fiery new single entitled “Overdo it” produced by 808 Mafia’s Purps and premiered on the Artistic Manifesto. The single is the final release before the drop of his upcoming project Trill Influence II and you can stream it below via Soundcloud.

Although we are unsure of Supreme Ace’s exact release date for the project, this is the perfect single to hold us over til then. “Overdo It” is another impressive collaboration from the artist and producer where he teams up with Atlanta’s OG Maco and fellow Denver powerhouse Trev Rich. The record is catchy with lyrics that are aimed at the haters endlessly running their mouths as a result of jealousy.

Be on the lookout for the drop of Trill Influence II, which is slated before the year ends. In the meantime, stream “Overdo It” featuring OG Maco and Trev Rich.

Rolling Loud looked ridiculous. I just had to start off the column this week by letting that be known, although I’m not surprised. When the lineup was released earlier this year, names like Kendrick Lamar, Young Thug and Lil’ Wayne dominated the headlines, but just how deep the festivals talent roster was, caused me to raise an eyebrow or two. Mixing in budding superstars like Joey Bada$$ & Lil’ Yachty with the aforementioned studs, allowed the festival to also include some of Soundcloud’s finest including SAINt JHN, Jay IDK and of course the man of the hour, XXXTENTACION – who apparently played his set from his aux cord, which resulted in his phone ringing mid-performance. But all of that took a backseat to the fiasco that took place on Sunday, the last day of the festival.

To detail every discussion-worthy situation that happened this day, could garner its own 3000 word article – which it did, here’s the best one that I’ve read — so I’ll just stick to the highlights. First, Lil’ Uzi Vert went full on Rob Van Dam and did a Swanton Bomb on a group of eager fans from 20 feet in the air — this act completely exonerates him for his, “I’m a rockstar not a rapper,” comments. Then the city of Miami requested that the Migos NOT perform on the main stage due to seating capacity; which resulted in the WHOLE crowd running to the side stage to see the “Bad and Boujee” trio absolutely murk their set, complete with a guest appearance from Gucci Mane to do, “Slippery.” To end the day off, Travis Scott then closed out the main stage with probably the best performance of the whole weekend – sorry, Kendrick – which included bringing out Quavo and the Migos, an obvious “fuck you” to the Miami’s city council. Other news from the weekend included everybody’s favorite appropriator, Miley Cyrus, denouncing her love for “dirty” Hip-Hop and the Queen of Vibes – there, I tried to say it without laughing – YesJulz, might’ve shot herself in the foot with a racially ignorant tweet.

With all of that going on, it’s understandable why you may have missed some of the hottest music being released, recently. Don’t worry, we got you covered. Check out this week’s With All Due RESPECT. featuring a banging remix from Denver native Supreme Ace, a sensual sermon from Jake&Papa and a declaration of hometown pride from Sin City rep, Marion Write.

Coolie Mar – “Highway 2 Heaven (Feat. SEBBY OG + Saucalini)”

After discovering San Diego native Rossi Rock last year, I was sent down a Soundcloud spiral of infectious tracks from other 619 artists. First, I was lead to SEBBY OG and Saucalini’s prideful single, “Ball Cap,” which brought me to a track named, “Highway 2 Heaven” from Daygo rep, Coolie Mar. Throughout the track, which also features SEBBY and Sauce, Coolie Mar establishes his smooth player sound to the tune of warped trumpets being looped that makes you feel like at any moment, Al Capone could hop out with some ripped jeans and a Palace t-shirt. Oh yeah, the bars are ON POINT, the trio trades digs like, “I’ll go Jimmy Johnson if you in my lane,” and “I stay ready from dust to dust, that’s an all-nighter,” over the nostalgic beat produced by, GUM$. All I have to say is, thanks Soundcloud, you hardly let me down. Check out the track below.

Supreme Ace – “Timepiece (Remix) (Feat. Jace + Mir Fontane + Wave Chappelle)”

Remixes are a lost art in Hip-Hop, and music in general. Gone are the days of Biggie getting on the original “Flava in Ya Ear” beat with a new 32 from Craig Mack. Thanks to Puffy, ironically, the remix became more about reiventing the song as opposed to adding another element to it. It resulted in smashes like, “I Need a Girl” & “Special Delivery“, but also in duds like, the “No More Drama” remix — which sounded waaaaay better on the original. Following in the legendary shoes of the mogul, Denver native Supreme Ace releases a remix to his track, “Timepiece”; revamped with a scathing 16 from New Jersey resident Mir Fontane — “Niggas shooting shots, but I’m Luke Cage in this bitch,” — an infectious verse from Wave, and probably the best Supreme Ace verse to date. “Rooftops in Miami, & then its 40s in Atlanta. Then it’s red eyes to L.A., meet me in baggage claim,” rhymes Ace on the opening verse, sounding more confident than ever. If my calculations are correct, considering the star-studded cast and the catchy chorus, “Timepiece (Remix)” will be the breakout song of the summer. Check out below.

Twon Don – “Supreme (Feat. JAG)”

A little over a week ago, I had an artist by the name of Twon Don reach out to me about listening to his recently released tape, Paradise Isn’t Free. I won’t lie, initally, I slept. I slept hard. Twon then followed up on the email which prompted to me to check out the Dessy Hinds assisted — I’m a huge PE guy — track, “Black Bar Mitzvah.” While I half-expected to enjoy Dessy’s verse more due to my familiarity with him, I was 100% wrong. The NY native left no doubt that he could spit with the best of them, forcing me to listen to the rest of the tape. And boy am I glad that I did, as I ran into, “Supreme” featuring JAG. To put it plain and simple, the essence of this song captures everything that I imagine Troy Ave was trying to do with his, “Brooklyn rennisance.” The track, produced by DJ Relly Rell, is a 4-minute-ode to classic New York Hip-Hop with bars like, “Like communist, I treat my people equal; stay far from evil, the purest thoughts in my cerebral,” and “Perrion for dons, enough for me to bathe in,” over the nostalgic NYC track. Twon sets the stage for the dramatic beat flip that results in JAG going absolutely the fuck off, highlighted by hustler bars like, “I run the block like the cops coming,” & “The bottom floor got the merch, upper floor got the work.” In all honesty, “Supreme” might be the best New York music released this year. Check out the track below and get hip to Twon Don’s tape, Paradise Isn’t Free.

Marion Write – “He Got Game (Feat. Todd Zack Jr. + MOOSE The Coolest)”

Las Vegas has a sense of culture and pride building that is manifesting outside of the confines of the Las Vegas Strip. The motivation could stem from Dizzy Wright‘s evergrowing obsession with putting on his hometown, but more than likely comes from the years of neglect and ridicule the city’s local scene has endured for years. While guys like Dizzy get the shine for, “putting on” Vegas, there are cats that are more under the radar that have been helping to cultivate the scene, quietly, for years. Native Marion Write is one of those arists and he lets his affection for his city be known loud and clear on the wavy join, “He Got Game.” Set to the beat of easy-going drum kicks and a warm synth that is prevelant throughout the track — Produced by Chris Punsalan (Happy Graduation!) — Marion lets loose introspective ryhmes like, “Never call me underground, until I rest in peace,” and “Didn’t need to move to L.A., just to live a dream,” an obvious dig at locals, including me, who have said the Vegas scene was too broad to make it out of. Meshing those bars with the soothing harmonizations of Todd Zack Jr. and MOOSE The Coolest on the chorus, “He Got Game,” serves as the perfect song to bump in the whip on the way home from the Day Club to go get ready for the night festivities. In other words, it sounds like the calm before the storm. Check out the track below, and stop sleeping on Write’s new tape, Alumni.

Jake&Papa – “Phones”

Co-signs are tricky, and they always will be. It’s always hard to differentiate whether a co-sign is authentic, or just a returned favor or an attempt at wave-riding. So when Los Angeles soul-duo Jake&Papa were brought to my attention, highlighted by co-signs from radio giants, Big Boy and Sway Calloway; I took it with a grain of salt. That is, until I checked out the compelling visual for their track, “Phones” off of their new project, Tattoos&Blues. If you’ve never heard of the singer/songwriting duo before, I suggest this song is the one you use to get hip. Meshing summertime, island vibes — that don’t suck — with a clever chorus, “I hear your body calling, calling my name/ who needs phones,” and some wavy falsetttos, “Phones” is the song that plays at the club right before the lights come on. “Phones” also showcases what the duo is more widly known for, which is their pen, with lyrics like, “You come over, with nothing but a trench coat and your choker on, then you throw it back like some overalls, I am your best lover overall,” and “My ex tryna kick it like it’s 4th & 10.” Check out the sensual new track below, and get familiar with the L.A. natives.

So last Thursday night, March 23rd, I celebrated my 22nd birthday. Now, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada; so me celebrating my birthday may have a different connotation than somebody in let’s say, anywhere else? Anyways, we partied all night, hopping from various bar to bar making our presence felt. As expected, I hardly remember 90% of that night – I was told that I had fun – though it definitely should’ve been 100%. The 10% that I remember? LISTENING TO KING KENDRICK LAMAR’S “The Heart Pt. 4” OVER AND OVER AS I TRIED TO NOT TO LOSE MY SH*T! I mean wow, did you guys hear that? I’ll be honest, at first listen, I thought he sounded a bit lackadaisical and bored, but that must’ve been the gin clouding my ear drums because he’s actually the exact opposite. I won’t sit here and try to figure out who those shots were for in the second verse – Big Sean you’re on notice, “bro” – but whoever it was that Cornrow Kenny had in his Terminator like vision, I’m sorry. I’m sorry that out of all the people to send shots toward Kendrick in the last few years, that you’re the one to potentially “end up like the last n*gga I know” – Drake you’re on notice as well. Though the war declared by Kendrick – 4/7 can’t come any faster – might’ve dominated the headlines last week, some dope, underrated music has been circulating around the net, and these five tracks need not be lost in the Spotify shuffle. Featuring tracks from Supreme Ace, Michael Christmas, Zelly Vibes and more; check out this week’s, With All Due RESPECT.

Free P – “Midnight Poetry”

Checking first to this week’s list is buzzing artist Free P with his track, “Midnight Poetry”. Perfectly titled, “Midnight Poetry” sounds exactly like what the title may infer. Self-reflective lines like, “I been drinking so much, it’s like I’m swimming with the fishes,” coupled with generationally — not a word but it sounds right — relevant bars such as, “She telling me to hit it slow and pay attention” create an aesthetic to the track that reminds me fondly of DMV native Goldlink. While the sonic direction of, “Midnight Poetry” differs from damn near all of Goldlink’s work, the two share a similar flow and choice of topic: Make it out the jungle (alive) with a lioness by your side. I came across the hotspitter’s music in the most 2017 way possible. While browsing through Twitter looking for memes, I came across P’s music through a retweet by a colleague on my timeline. The cover art boasted by the track intrigued me, so I asked my colleague’s opinion of him, in which he raved about the promising artist. I proceeded to listen, and instead of finding one track, I found a whole stash; highlighted by the gem that is, “Midnight Poetry”. What a time to be alive, am I right? Join the club and stop snoozing on P, check out the track below.

Corey Lee – “Greedy”

Greed is a tricky word, and in Hip-Hop, it’s tossed around more often than a groupie. How many times have you heard an artist complain and complain about how a label – or supervising artist – is greedy and just trying to shade their shine? Approximately, about how many times has that artist been factually correct, instead of just throwing an warranted temper tantrum? Checking in next on the list, Philadelphia native Corey Lee, is not one of those artists. On his track, “Greedy” off of his new project, A Shot in the Dark, Lee makes it known his time is coming, and it’s coming fast. Lines like, “Make a mill and I’m never coming home” as well as the hook, “You been eating long enough, stop being greedy/ Keep it real, I know you wanna see me,” make this such an authentic aggressive style Philly track. This is the type of song that’ll make you want to go tell your boss, “Give me the raise or I’m out!” right before you go sit right back in your desk and get back to work – don’t forget you’ve got bills. After releasing the project to rave reviews and tearing up SXSW, it seems as though Lee is ready to make that change. I suggest you stop sleeping and ride that change with him.
Zelly Vibes – “We Can Have it All”

Every so often, an artist comes out and you can just see the sauce dripping from their aura. Some artists take YEARS to develop a style that’s accepted by the masses and some artists, pick it up at the drop of a hat. Las Vegas native Zelly Vibes is one of those artists. Though she was originally a Spanish singer exclusively, Vibes reinvented her whole image and sound in a way that not only was more marketable, but more comfortable it seems as well. The result? Her newest track, “We Can Have it All” which carries some serious Kehlani vibes throughout the track. Utilizing her soft voice to accentuate every single note and lyric, the Vegas rep switches seamlessly from angelic to aggressive, essentially capturing the essence of women everywhere – can’t wait to be attacked for this one. Lyrics like “I can be your muse, baby light me I’m the fuse,” highlight her strength as a song writer as well. Personally, I love the message of the chorus as well, as Zelly chooses encouraging lyrics to go with the tropical beat in an attempt to keep spirits high. Check out the new track from the Sin City songstress below, and be sure to be on the lookout for the video, coming soon.

Moose – “Vegas is a MFKA (Feat. Trade Voorhees, G. Reed + Blair Norf)

Keeping it in the City of Sin, the next artist on the list is the multidimensional rapper/producer Moose and his ode to the 702 with “Vegas is a MFKA“. Produced by Freddie Gibbs‘ secret weapon Blair Norf, “Vegas is a MFKA” really should replace whatever weak melody that’s currently labeled as Nevada’s state song. In an effort to keep the authenticity, Moose recruits local legends Trade Voorhees and G. Reed, who seem like had a friendly competition with the way they spit their rhymes. Voorhees opts for the “Big Homie” lane with bars like, “There’s no better than Veteran Voorhees, zero” while Reed narrows his lyrical bullets toward the fashion lane, stealing the show with lines like, “My pants Australian, my fleece Canadian/ The weed that I’m blowing still louder than the stadium.” In all, the track highlights Moose’s best quality as a musician, which is the ability to bring people together to create magic. Check out the new track below, fresh off of Moose’s City Never Sleeps project, and stop sleeping on Vegas. There’s a movement here.

Supreme Ace – “Make a Play (Feat. Michael Christmas)”

Rounding out the list this week is Denver, Colorado native Supreme Ace with his dusty new track, “Make a Play“. Featuring Boston rhymeslinger Michael Christmas, it would be easy to assume without listen that the wordsmith Christmas may have the upper hand on the track, but the decision is harder than you may think. Having never heard of Ace before this track, he instantly made me a fan with his laid back cadences and suave demeanor. “You just storytelling about sh*t you never had, sh*t that could’ve happened now it’s in the bag,” rhymes Ace over the soulful, sample driven production that sounds straight from the Just Blaze vault. Never the one to be outdone, Christmas still delivers that heat, though, spewing off bars like, “I’m on a boat wylin’, too close to home so the Coast Guard profilin’/ I need a different island, I’m in the part where you become a legend/ They start a movie, I’m looking goofy in a rusty hooptie.” Check out the ode to rooftop parties in Miami and L.A. below and be on the lookout for Ace’s Layovers in NYC, slated to be released later this year.

Supreme Ace is moving through with his new single, “Down Forever.” The song features fellow Denver artist KingRyTheFirst (Ryan Alan) and then they blend their creativity over the Cardo-produced beat.

The track is offset by the two artists going back to the past and speaking on past relationships and more.

It’s not as if Ace didn’t recently drop his “Kings & Queens” track with KingRy back in the mid portion of May. Their chemistry has connected a lot, so why not do another one?

Back in October, Ace released his ‘Trill Influence‘ project and the buzz is still alarming from it. ‘Layovers in NYC‘ will be his project that is expected this summer. It’s been confirmed that the tape will include Two9, Lex Luger, Cyhi The Prynce, EarDrummers, and more.

Ace has been on a pretty consistent trail, that only grows as he continues to unleash new material to and for the people. “Down Forever” is a great way to get everyone excited for what’s to come this summer and beyond.

Denver MC Supreme Ace has given us a handful of tracks with Tim Gent, Cyhi The Prynce, and Two 9‘s Ceej and Jace. Now, the rapper delivers his highly anticipated project, Trill Influence. Eleven tracks strong, the project boasts guest appearances from Pac Div, Dizzy Wright, Sy Ari Da Kid, Two 9, Tim Gent, Fly Union Case Arnold, and more. The production is just as diverse with Taylor Gang‘s Sledgren and RMB Justize, Ceej of Two 9, and 30 Roc of Mike Will‘s super producer group The Drumaticz all receiving credit. Ace really excels on this project and is far from being overshadowed by the various big names involved. Sit back and enjoy the chill vibes that radiate from Supreme Ace’s Trill Influence.
